About Katy Cowan

Founding editor, broadcast journalist, & podcaster.

With over 25 years of experience in media and marketing communications, I began my career in regional and national radio before co-founding Boomerang, a digital consultancy in Manchester. In 2009, I launched Creative Boom to support struggling creatives. It has since grown into a leading platform, reaching over one million professionals monthly. It’s now my main focus, and I’m dedicated to championing artists and designers worldwide.

It’s taken 15 years to build a publication I’m genuinely proud of. Since going all-in and dedicating myself to it full-time in 2021, I’ve surpassed every goal I set, hitting my turnover target a whole year ahead of schedule. Now, we’re working with some of the biggest names out there, including Microsoft, Meta, and Adobe, and showing no signs of slowing down.
