Writer. Editor. Founder of Creative Boom.
I’ve spent the last two decades championing creatives through my inclusive platform. What began as a humble blog grew into a magazine, podcast, and community for artists and designers, reaching a million people every month. I’m proud of what I’ve built so far. But feel like I’m only just getting started.

The creative industry doesn’t need more gatekeeping. It needs room for more people to thrive. That belief is behind everything I’ve built through Creative Boom: a platform to support creatives everywhere.

A little more about me
Katy Cowan
Creative Boom
I've seen how powerful creativity can be, and how isolating this industry can feel without any support.
These days, I work across editorial, community, and conversation. That means the magazine and podcast, plus the odd room full of people at a live event. It might be different shapes, but it’s the same job: helping creative people get the most out of their careers.
WORK WITH ME
Mentoring for ambitious founders and freelancers.
Everything else I manage is deliberately for everyone. This is the opposite: one-to-one sessions built entirely around your business and where you’re heading next. You’ll have my undivided attention as your mentor.

Understand where my head’s at right now.
I love to write about the things I’m currently curious about. Whether it’s new technology and how that’s shaping the creative industry, or the latest artists and designers grabbing my attention. I’ll always try and be honest about my own learning journey.
