The Studio: A Thriving Community in Just One Week
Photography by Isy Anderson
When I launched The Studio, Creative Boom’s new private community, I had a strong feeling that it would be something special. But I could never have predicted just how quickly it would take off. In barely a week since opening its doors, we’re already approaching 1,800 members—an incredible milestone that speaks volumes about the appetite for meaningful, private spaces where creatives can connect, share, and grow.
Why Now? The Return of Private Communities
Over the past decade, social media has dominated our lives online, but something has shifted. Creatives are tired of battling algorithms, fighting for visibility, and engaging in endless doomscrolling. Many of us crave something more intentional—a space that fosters genuine conversation, support, and collaboration without the noise and distractions of traditional platforms.
This is exactly what The Studio offers: a welcoming, toxic-free environment where creatives of all disciplines can find inspiration, ask for advice, showcase their work, and form real connections with like-minded professionals. It’s a return to what made online communities so powerful in the first place—before the landscape became saturated with endless content and engagement metrics.
The Response Has Been Phenomenal
From illustrators to designers, photographers to motion artists, freelancers to agency founders, creatives have flocked to The Studio, eager to be part of something that feels fresh yet familiar. The discussions have been lively, the support heartwarming, and the enthusiasm exceeding all expectations.
One of the biggest surprises has been the sheer level of engagement. Within days of launching, members shared resources, collaborated on projects, and offered thoughtful critiques. They attended our first events and signed up for more. The sense of camaraderie is exactly what I’d hoped for—and it’s only just the beginning.
What’s Next?
With such a strong start, I’m excited to see how The Studio evolves. To make the community even more valuable, we plan to introduce more live events, portfolio reviews, and exclusive learning opportunities. The goal is to create a space that brings creatives together and actively helps them thrive in their careers. We’re talking valuable sessions like Behind the Rebrand. Or workshops on a whole range of topics relevant to creatives, like How to Market Yourself in a Post-Social Media World. We’ll be inviting our community to quiz their favourite art and design heroes. It’s going to be a busy yet enjoyable 2025.
If you’re a creative professional looking for a space that prioritises meaningful connections over metrics, The Studio is for you. We’re only just getting started, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.
